Capital Budget. After State Treasurer Beth Pearce
released her Clean Water Report on January 17, she spent the next few weeks of
the session explaining it to committees throughout the State House. The House
Natural Resources, Fish and Wildlife Committee is considering legislation that
would provide for the development of a long-range plan to fund the mandates in
Act 64, the Water Quality Act. [Read more.]
House Resolution Honors
VLCT on its First Fifty Years.
Judging by responses from local officials, VLCT’s Local Government Day in the
Legislature, which took place on Wednesday, was a huge success. Throughout the
day, various local officials – from among the 160 who attended – addressed the
ongoing concerns of municipalities in testimony before committee members. [Read more.]

House as well as a smattering – a rather sizeable smattering, that is – of municipally-flavored new bills.
