1. Call to Order & Welcome                      
The Chair called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.

2. Attendance
Members Present: Don Turner, Jr., Chair, Jaime Parent, Lou Mossey, Rich DeSouza, Ann Bradshaw, Bob Lombard, Tony Micklus
Members Absent:  Michael Neary, Michael Joseph

5. Staff Update
Hemmerick stated that the Planning Department has hired a new Town Planner.  Victor Sinadinoski will begin Monday, August 28, 2017.

The Planning Department is also working on the recruitment process for the Planning Director position.

Hemmerick stated that there were numerous applications recently submitted including an application sketch plan for a large scale mixed use development at the corner of Racine Road and US Route 7 owned by David Goodrich; and an application proposing a 20,000 square foot expansion at R.R. Charlebois Inc. at US Route 7.

A large mural is being painted on the side of the Gardner’s Supply Company building located at US Route 7.

There are two openings on the Development Review Board.  Two alternate seats and one regular seat are currently open.

The DRB has made changes to the Unified Development Regulations.  The hearing regarding the changes is scheduled for September 11, 2017.

A food manufacturer in Grand Isle, Vermont Nut Free Chocolates’ lease is expiring and they are looking for 20,000 square feet of space in Milton.

Lombard stated that the Vermont Christmas Company on Clapper Road is also looking for additional space for their business.

Duchesneau announced that the annual Touch a Truck is scheduled for September 16, 2017 at Bombardier Park from 9 am to 12 pm.

The Artist Guild’s Come As You Art event is scheduled for September 16, 2017 at Bombardier Park from 9 am to 12 pm.

The Pumpkins in the Park event is scheduled for October 27, 2017.  Truck or Treat is being added to this event .  Twenty business and/or organizations will participate in the Truck or Treat event. 
 
The Winter Festival of 2018 is scheduled for February 9th – 11th.

Turner stated that the Town gives an annual contribution to organizations including an annual contribution of $10,000 to the GBIC (Greater Burlington Industrial Corporation).  Turner announced that he is asking everyone the Town gives money to, to come in and explain why the Town should continue to give them money.

The Town is seeking to fill two staff positions, the Public Works Director and the Planning Director.

Sidewalks are being built around Town and the Town is paving about a million dollars in roads.

6. Business
A.     Quarterly Business Roundtable Planning

An interactive breakfast event will be held at Husky on October 4, 2017 at 8:00 am.  DeSouza and Turner will coordinate the event.
